The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made another breakthrough in its investigation into the Red Fort car bomb blast, taking into custody a key aide linked to the main perpetrator of the attack.
Jasir Bilal Wani, who goes by the alias Danish and is a resident of Kashmir, was picked up by an NIA team from Srinagar. The arrest is part of the agency’s ongoing investigation in case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, according to an official statement.
During the probe, the NIA found that Jasir had allegedly been providing specialised technical assistance for terrorist activities. He was reportedly involved in altering drones for operational use and had attempted to develop rocket-type devices in the period leading up to the explosion that killed 10 people and injured 32 others.
Hailing from Qazigund in Anantnag district, Jasir is believed to have played an active role in planning the attack and had worked closely with the terrorist Umar un Nabi to execute the plot.
The agency continues to widen its investigation, examining multiple leads and conducting searches in different states to identify every individual connected to the conspiracy, the spokesperson added.
