In a major step towards intensifying its fight against drug trafficking and abuse, Kashmir’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), a specialized unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police, has deployed highly trained dog squad to combat narcotics menace.
A police spokesman on Saturday said the newly inducted sniffer Dog Safa (Narcotic) trained in advanced narcotics detection, will play a pivotal role in identifying and locating illegal drugs such as Heroin, Cannabis, Opium and other banned substances.
“These highly skilled canines will be deployed at key locations, including checkpoints, airports, border areas, and during raids on suspected drug hubs,” he said.
This initiative underscores ANTFs commitment to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring a safer, drug feed society in the region, the spokesman added.
