Around 31.73 pc voting recorded till 1300 hours in Maha LS polls

An estimated 31.73 per cent of 2.09 crore electorate exercised their franchise till 1300 hours on Tuesday in the third phase of Lok Sabha election to 11 seats in Maharashtra.

According to Election Commission sources, the highest polling of 38.42 percent was recorded in Kolhapur Parliamentary constituency followed by Hatkangale 36.17 percent, Ratnagiri Sindhudurg 33.91 percent, Satara 32.78 percent, Latur 32.71 percent, Raigad 31.34 percent, Osmanabad 30.54 percent, Sangali 29.65 percent, Solapur 29.32 percent, Baramati 27.55 percent and Madha 26.61 percent .

Over 2.09 crore electorate, including 1.07 crore males, are expected to exercise their franchise to elect 11 candidates among the 258 contesting candidates from different political parties, including that of ruling Mahayuti and opposition Maha Vikas Agadhi in about 23,036 polling stations.

About 929 transgender persons will also cast their votes.

The polling is progressing in a peaceful manner, the sources added.
