Atal Ji laid foundation of modern India through democratic governance: Ashok Koul

To mark Good Governance Day commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a well-attended programme was organised at the Bharatiya Janata Party office, Kachi Chhawni, in the Jammu East Assembly constituency.

The event was held to honour the enduring legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and to reaffirm the BJP’s commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and people-centric administration.

Addressing party workers and local residents, BJP J&K UT General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a visionary statesman who laid a strong foundation for modern India through inclusive governance and unwavering democratic values. He said that Good Governance Day serves as a reminder for public representatives to work with honesty, efficiency, and compassion, ensuring that the benefits of Central Government schemes and development initiatives reach every citizen.

Ashok Koul highlighted the BJP’s programmes and policies, stating that the party remains fully committed to inclusive development, good governance, and public welfare. He noted that under BJP leadership, several people-oriented schemes have been launched to improve the lives of the poor, youth, women, and senior citizens. Emphasising transparency, robust infrastructure, and social justice as the core pillars of the BJP’s vision, Koul added that the party is following a clear roadmap for economic growth, employment generation, and national security to build a strong and self-reliant India.

MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, while paying rich tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, highlighted his lifelong struggle and remarkable achievements. He said that Atal Ji rose from humble beginnings to become one of India’s most respected Prime Ministers through dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the nation. Despite numerous political and personal challenges, he never compromised on democratic values or national interest, Sethi added.

Recalling Vajpayee’s leadership, Sethi said it brought stability, economic progress, and enhanced India’s global standing. He added that Atal Ji’s vision continues to guide the country towards strong, transparent, and people-oriented governance. “Atal Ji’s leadership continues to inspire the present generation,” he said, noting that his policies strengthened national unity, promoted economic reforms, and elevated India’s stature on the world stage.

Sethi further stated that the Jammu East Assembly constituency remains committed to following the path shown by Atal Bihari Vajpayee by focusing on clean administration, effective service delivery, and the welfare of all sections of society.

Several senior party leaders and workers, including Brijeshwar Rana, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ramesh Gupta, Saneet Raina, Ravi Kant, Anil Massom, Rajender Sharma, Ashu Gupta, Parveen Kerni, Adarsh Jathiar, Swati Sharma, Shiv Sharma, Anuradha Sharma, Vijay Gill, and Arun Sethi, were present on the occasion. They paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister and reaffirmed their dedication to spreading his ideals among the masses.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge by participants to uphold the principles of good governance, public service, and national development as envisioned by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, reflecting a strong sense of unity and purpose and reinforcing the BJP’s resolve to work for a progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
