Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Karra on Wednesday alleged that the BJP is running “jackboot policy” in JK.
The J&K Congress President made these remarks during an interaction with the media on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti celebration in Srinagar.
“BJP is glorifying the peaceful atmosphere of Kashmir. This is nothing sort of glorifying the situation, it has fear among the people”, Karra said.
He said peace should be in one’s mind and heart…nobody has peace in mind or heart here except a “fear and compulsion”.
Karra said “there would not be any misadventure in the mandate. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have voted against the injustice, wrongdoing and against the anti-people and jackboot policy of the Centre.
Asked what strategy the Congress has if they form the next government with their alliance partner National conference and five men would be inducted in the legislative assembly by the Lieutenant Governor as per the provision, Karra said “to select five members in the Legislative Assembly is not based on honesty.. there are nefarious designs behind it”.
He said people have voted in favour of alliance and to keep the BJP out from the power corridor.
“If needed any help to form the next government, we will consult our alliance partner and I have openly said that our doors would be open for all likeminded people including forces, parties and even for individuals”, Karra emphasized.
Asked that independents are claiming they will play a kingmaker’s role in forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir, Karra said “we are looking at independents as spoilers” .
The chessboard BJP has spread to run the Jammu and Kashmir for that they fielded ‘A’ team ‘B’ team and ‘C’ team and when they came to know that there all formulas have been failed, they assumed a novel way of ‘vote fragmentation’ and fielded independents candidates in the elections only in Kashmir just to disempower the people of valley.
“BJP wants to bring in power those people who are fit for their purpose and fielding independents in the elections is based on their nefarious designs to fragment the vote bank to defeat the nearest strong candidate”, Karra alleged.
Regarding the arrest of Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuch in Delhi, the PCC President said “the BJP and their subsidiaries have created such an atmosphere in India and they are trying to suppress the voices of right thinking people either he belong to any place, any religion or any political ideology”.
He said if those ‘right thinking” people are not liked by the BJP or RSS they are being sent to jail.
