Bandipora: Chief Medical Officer Bandipora on Thursday rebutted the story carried by a local newspaper on Wednesday titled, “83-year-old blind votes to get disability certificate”.
In a statement issued to KNO, CMO Bandipora, Dr Bilkees Mir termed the news report as baseless and far from the actual facts.
She said the person in question, Mohammad Ibrahim Bafanda, a resident of Zalpora Sumbal has been issued the disability certificate on 22 June 2015 bearing number CMO Board..4077 and that the accusations made in the news item are rebutted strongly.
Terming the news report as malicious and mischievous, she said it expects the editor of the newspaper to carry the clarification at the same page with similar prominence. (KNO)
