The Delhi unit of BJP on Monday launched an indefinite sit-in protest against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal allegations that he had spent Rs 45 crore on the renovation of his official residence.
The Protest was led by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, demanding that Kejriwal must open his residence to general public so that they can see how “lavishly” the CM is living.
MP Dr. Harshvardhan and Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha Ramveer Singh Vidhuri and other leaders also present in the protest.
“Kejriwal should open his bungalow for the common people so that they can see for themselves the renovation that was undertaken”. Harshavardhan told reporters.
Slamming the the Chief Minister, BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva said, according to several media reports, that CM Kejriwal should allow the media to tour the “Raj Mahal” so that the people can see what it looks like.
The BJP held the protest after certain documents have emerged that allegedly show that the Public Works Department of the Delhi government spent close to Rs 45 Crore in the “beautification works” on the residence of Delhi’s Chief Minister.
