Diljit Dosanjh unveiled in first look of “Border 2” featuring Indian Air Force

T-Series and JP Films have released the first look of Diljit Dosanjh from the upcoming film “Border 2,” revealing that the sequel will expand the franchise to include the Indian Air Force alongside ground operations, reports Variety.

The poster shows Dosanjh in a fighter jet cockpit, portraying an Air Force officer, signaling that aerial combat will play a significant role alongside traditional battlefield sequences.

According to Variety, set against the backdrop of 1971, the original “Border” (1997), starring Sunny Deol, depicted the legendary Battle of Longewala, where a small Indian battalion faced a large Pakistani strike force. The film remains a landmark in Indian war cinema.

“Border 2” is directed by Anurag Singh, who previously helmed Kesari (2019), starring Akshay Kumar, which depicted the heroic Battle of Saragarhi.

The film reunites Singh with Dosanjh, with whom he has collaborated on several successful Punjabi films, including Jatt & Juliet (2012), Jatt & Juliet 2 (2013), Disco Singh (2014), Punjab 1984 (2014), and Super Singh (2017).

The ensemble cast of Border 2 includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under T-Series and JP Films, presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s banner. The production team also includes Krishan Kumar.

‘Border 2’ is slated for release on January 23, 2026, strategically timed for the Republic Day weekend in India, a prime slot for patriotic-themed action films.
