Editorial: Learn To Coexist

Date:

The deadly cornonovirus continue to spread and is hitting hard the world socially as well as economically. Even after five months when the virus first appeared in China’s lake city Wuhan, it has drastically crossed the borders and hit almost all the countries of the world.

It is perhaps for the first time in human history that entire world population of 7.8 billion went into self quarantine. The humanity is punished and punished hard by nature. The powerful countries like America, United Kingdom, France, Italy and others have literally surrendered to this deadly virus with many of them losing count to the coffins due to this pandemic. The virus shook the world at a time when the human race was competing in conquering the skies. Now the world has got a break and got back to its existence. It has brought into fore the grim realities of world’s existence.

Some observations are felt after the virus is removed from the earth’s surface; the new world order will be in place. The status quo maintained for a long time is going to be changed on all the political, social and economic fronts.

The race for the weapons that has been literally been dominating the world and European countries forcing developing nations to buy the new and latest weapons may now get a break. All the countries might think more about building heath, social and economic institutions.

The world has felt the need of having more advanced hospitals than cantonments. More will be invested on research and socioeconomic development programmes.  But alongside that it may also push us genuinely to ponder over our efforts of destroying the nature. The pictures circulating in media and social media websites is teaching us a lesson.

Human beings cannot claim to conquer the areas that normally are not designated for it. With this massive population locked inside the houses and a grinding halt on normal activities, the ozone layer has improved. The pollution levels have drastically decreased.

The wild animals have been back to their places which were earlier illegally occupied by human beings. If we look at the positive side of the story, the earth is back to its basics. It tells human beings how it can live in coexistence and does not foray into the spaces normally meant for others. We must understand human beings are just specie among billions of others who are supposed to coexist. As human beings we are bestowed with special powers to make the best use of the planet. Remember, we can only share the space on this planet but cannot claim to be its sole owners
