Referring to the PM Suryaghar or free electricity scheme where 300 units of electricity will be available free of cost and citizens will also be able to sell the excess electricity to the government, he said, “Under this scheme which is available for 1 crore families currently, Rs 30,000 to about Rs 80,000 will be deposited directly into the bank account of every family.”

Modi said those generating 100 units of electricity every month will get assistance of Rs 30,000 while those generating 300 units or more electricity will get around Rs 80,000. He also highlighted the government’s push towards the Electric Vehicle (EV) sector and mentioned the PLI scheme for manufacturing partners as well as tax exemptions on the purchase of such vehicles.

He said, “As a result, about 34.5 lakh electric vehicles have been sold in the last 10 years. We are rolling out electric buses at a fast pace. Be it solar or EV, there are a lot of possibilities in both sectors in UP.
