Semi-Decomposed Body Recovered From Haran Forests In Handwara

Srinagar, July 16 (GNS): Police on Tuesday evening recovered a semi-decomposed body of a youth from Haran forest area of Chowgal , Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching GNS said that some locals informed the police about the body lying in Haran forest area. “A police team immediately rushed to the area and recovered the semi-decomposed body”.

The deceased have been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Wani (18) son of Farooq Ahmad Wani, a resident of Haran.

Wani, according to the locals was missing since last 40 days.

SSP Handwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani also confirmed the incident and said that the body has been taken to a hospital for all legal medico-formalities including the postmortem.

“A case under section 174 CrPc has been registered and started further investigations to ascertain the cause of death,” SSP said. (GNS)
