Police Probe As Family Alleges Woman Killed By Husband

Poonch: Police have launched an investigation after a 35-year-old woman’s family alleged she was beaten to death by her husband in Surankote area here.
The woman’s parents alleged that she was beaten ruthlessly by her husband on the intervening night of March 12 and 13 and succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Jammu on Thursday. “Her body bore injury marks,” they alleged.
Mohammad Yousuf, local Sarpanch, also accused the woman’s husband of beating her to death. “The torture marks on her body were visible due to which she died in Jammu hospital today,” he said.
The woman’s family and the sarpanch demanded a speedy investigation and stern action against her husband.
A police officer meanwhile said that a case under section 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations taken up. (GNS)
