In a major boost to India’s defence capability, the Indian Air Force have received the first Apache Guardian Helicopter. The helicopter was formally handed over to the IAF on Friday, at a production facility of Boeing in Arizona US.

It was first announced by IAF on its official twitter handle.

The AH-64E [I] Apache Guardian is a superfluous, and all weather Helicopter lased with abilities of warring both at aerial and ground targets. With its advanced stealth technology makes it prudent in using low-altitude obstacles like trees and hills as shield.

While receiving the Apache in a ceremony at the Boeing production facility was Air Marshal AS Butola representing IAF in the platform. There were also representatives from the US government present at the event.

The IAF had before 3 year inscribed into a contract with the US and Boeing. Appropriately, on 22 September in 2015 was signed an agreement for having 22 Apache helicopters from US.

Now, the first lot of these helicopters has been scheduled to get delivered in India by July of this year. To gain expertise in flying these helicopters Indian Aircrew and ground crew have joined training camps facilitated by US army at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

This has been seen as a big advantage for IAF. These helicopters are capable of carrying out precision attacks at standoff ranges.

These helicopters are amicably capable of transmitting and receiving battlefield maps through the data networking system installed in the war-copter. IAF said that it adds to the list of lethal acquisitions that IAF acquires.

Earlier India had bought the Chinook transport Helicopter, which was also manifested by Boeing. This was bought to assist in transporting troops, artillery, equipment and fuel.
