If the United States strikes Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran will attack all “interests” of Washington and its allies in the region, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said.
“The following declares that if the aggressor army proceeds to this stage, we will consider this an escalation of the war in the region, and all US and allied interests in the region will become targets of a powerful attack by our armed forces,” the command said in a statement on Tuesday.
Earlier, Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said that the Iranian armed forces have received new air defence systems.
“These new air defence systems have greatly enhanced our defensive capabilities. So much so that today we are much more capable of countering enemy aircraft,” Akraminia was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency.
He added that Iran managed to restore air defence systems damaged during the conflict with the United States.
Since July 8, US forces have carried out several series of strikes on Iran. The US Central Command claimed the strikes were in response to Iranian actions against commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian forces responded with strikes on US bases in several Middle Eastern countries.
On July 9, US President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire with Iran was no longer in effect.
