Jammu admin seals illegal drug de-addiction centre

Date:

The Jammu district administration on Thursday sealed an illegally operating drug de-addiction centre in the Kunjwani area on the city’s outskirts for allegedly functioning without valid registration.

Officials said the action was taken late Thursday night against ‘Jivan Ka Ehsaas Nasha Mukti Kendra’ at Kunjwani.

The officials said inspection was carried out by a team led by the Assistant Drug Controller, Jammu, under the directions of District Magistrate Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas as part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan.’

It was found during inspection that the facility could not produce documentary proof of registration from the competent authority.

“The District Administration Jammu appealed to the people to avail de-addiction services only from centres registered with the Health Department,” he said.

He stated that people are also requested to share information regarding any illegal de-addiction centre operating in their vicinity and to not allow such institutions to operate in rented premises.
