J&K: Five more candidates file nominations for Srinagar Lok Sabha seat

Bharat Jodo Party candidate was among the five candidates who filed their nomination papers from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency in the office of the Returning Officer (RO) on Tuesday, an official spokesman said.


Younis Ahmad Mir submitted his nomination papers on Tuesday before the Returning Officer (RO) as a candidate of the Bharat Jodo Party for the Srinagar Constituency. Four independent candidates also filed their nominations from the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday.


With this, the total number of candidates who filed their nomination papers from 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency rose to seven. The polling will be held on May 12, 2024, in the fourth phase.


The candidates who filed nomination papers as independent candidates are Mirza Sajad Hussain Beigh, Jibran Dar, Shahnaz Hussain Bhat, and Shamim Ahmad Parray. Two independent candidates also filed their nomination papers on Monday..


The Last date for filing nomination papers is April 25, 2024 (Thursday) . The Scrutiny of the nomination papers filed by the Candidates will take place on April, 26, 2024 (Friday).


The last date of withdrawal of the candidature is by or before April 29, 2024
