Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1.75 kgs of Charas powder from his possession in Jammu Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Police said on Wednesday that in a major action against drug trafficking, Police during an area domination operation conducted in the Pazalpora areas intercepted a vehicle at a surprise check on the old National Highway.
Upon searching the vehicle, 1.75 kg of Charas Powder was recovered, they said.
The driver, Tajdar Amin a resident of Karewa Colony, Bijbehara, a known drug peddler, was apprehended along with another occupant, Bilal Ahmad Yatoo, of Gund Nasir, Pazalpora.
The vehicle has been seized and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara.
Further investigation is underway, police added.
