J&K Police arrests 03 drug peddlers in Awantipora & Budgam; Contraband substances recovered

Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three alleged drug addicts in the sub-district of Awantipora and subsequently shifted them to the drug de-addiction cum rehabilitation centre Tral for conducting tests.

Police on Tuesday said continuing its drive against the drug peddlers, police during patrolling arrested three persons who were found in suspicious circumstances in an Eco Sports vehicle at Awantipora.

“During questioning, the trio admitted that they are regular drug consumers, and accordingly, they were shifted to the drug de-addiction/rehabilitation centre Tral, where the test of all the persons was conducted, and the report found them positive,” police said.

The drug addicts have been identified as Hilal Ahmad Ahanger, a resident of Badipora Budgam; Nasir Ahmad Mir of Badipora Budgam; and Aftab Ahmad Magray of Sugam Budgam.

Accordingly, a case under the relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora.
