Police have booked an alleged drug peddler using the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotics Drugs Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act in Sopore sub-district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said the notorious drug peddler identified as Muzafar Ahmad Marazi of Sofi Hamam Sopore was booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
“He has been taken into custody and is now being held in the District Jail Udhampur,” a police statement said.
Police said that many cases were registered against the said drug peddler and he was still involved in drug peddling by supplying drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore.
