In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, J&K Police have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 04 vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora seized four tippers bearing registration numbers JK05A-6634, JK03B-5727, JK03B-5628, JK01AG-5872. Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 192/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are earnestly appealed to extend their cooperation by sharing any information regarding such unlawful activities in their areas. J&K Police assures complete confidentiality of the informants and reiterates its resolve to take strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mining.(JKNS)
