An Army personnel from Haryana posted in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir died after he slipped and fell while proceeding for night patrolling duty, officials said on Friday.
They said the soldier of Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles, posted at Fatehgarh Sheeri camp, fell unconscious after the incident and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival.
Further medico-legal proceedings in the case have been initiated, officials added.
