The Jammu & Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) Tuesday in a statement said that through its Punjab Wing, it held a detailed meeting followed by an interactive Question-and-Answer (Q&A) session with students from various colleges across Punjab to deliberate upon the pressing issues confronting the student community and to chart the future course of action of the Association.

The virtual interaction, held on Tuesday evening, witnessed active participation from students and JKSA representatives. The session provided an open platform for dialogue on prevailing student-related concerns, welfare issues, academic challenges, and upcoming organisational initiatives aimed at addressing these problems effectively.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Sheikh Salman, State Media Coordinator, JKSA Punjab Wing, and was attended by core team members of the Punjab state unit, including Faiq Khan, President of the JKSA Chandigarh Unit; Irfan Sarwar, Vice President; Inayat Ahmad, General Secretary (Organisational Affairs); Shahzaib Ahmad, along with other coordinators, members, and volunteers of the Association.

During the meeting, the leadership emphasised that the primary objective of JKSA remains the protection of the rights, dignity, and welfare of students from Jammu and Kashmir across the country. It was reiterated that the Association has always stood firmly with Kashmiri students during times of crisis and will continue to pursue all possible avenues to ensure their safety, well-being, and access to equal opportunities in the future.

Addressing the participants, Faiq Khan stated that the JKSA Punjab Wing remains fully committed to addressing the concerns of students and strengthening its engagement at the grassroots level. He said that such interactive sessions reflect the Association’s proactive approach to listening to students, understanding their challenges, and collectively working towards building a supportive, inclusive, and responsive academic environment.

Irfan Sarwar, Vice President of the Chandigarh Unit, highlighted the importance of expanding JKSA’s outreach across Punjab. He noted that the Association plans to engage a wider student base through regular interactions, awareness programmes, and student-centric initiatives aimed at fostering unity, inclusion, and meaningful opportunities for students.

Emphasising organisational strengthening and discipline, Inayat Ahmad, General Secretary for Organisational Affairs, announced an upcoming volunteer mobilisation drive across colleges in Punjab. He appealed to students to actively join JKSA, stating that committed and passionate volunteers play a crucial role in empowering fellow students and advancing the organisation’s mission. He also stressed that all coordinators, members, and volunteers must work cooperatively and strictly adhere to the decisions taken collectively by the working body of the Association.

The interactive session enabled students to raise queries, share personal experiences, and offer constructive suggestions, helping JKSA align its strategies more closely with the needs and concerns of the student community.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the Association in recent times, JKSA noted that it has been a demanding period marked by recurring student-related crises across different states. However, the Association reaffirmed that it left no stone unturned and worked relentlessly, aggressively, and tirelessly to resolve the problems and issues faced by students across the country.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association stated that it will continue to explore every possible means for the welfare, safety, and betterment of students from Jammu and Kashmir and will remain steadfast in its mission to advocate, support, and stand with the student community at all times.

The Association further stressed that all coordinators, members, and volunteers must work in close coordination, uphold organisational discipline, and strictly adhere to collectively taken decisions.
