Kejriwal running away from ED like an escapist: Chugh

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday strongly condemned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for defying the ED summons in the alleged liquor scam and accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor of trying to “subvert the constitutional set-up of the nation”.

Chugh said if Kejriwal thinks he is not involved in the liquor scam he should have the guts to come public on it and place the facts before the nation.

“Why is he running away from ED time and again like an escapist? It clearly demonstrates that he is
not sure of confronting the facts and wants to make a political capital out of the situation,” he said.

The BJP leader claimed that the entire set-up of AAP is “engrossed in corruption” in Punjab as well. While
demanding a CBI investigation into various irregularities that the AAP government has done in Punjab, Chugh said it is the darkest period for Punjab in spite of the fact that AAP enjoys the popular mandate.
Chugh said Kejriwal has been deliberately plotting his programmes outside Delhi on
dates whenever the ED has summoned him. Had he been honest he would have explained
all facts and helped the ED to resolve one of the most corrupt cases in the Delhi government.

He said the AAP government in Punjab has failed on all the fronts even as various mafia are having a field day. “Be it the Sand mafia, Liquor mafia or Drug mafia. All are being patronised and protected by the AAP government in Punjab,” he alleged.
