In a post on X, the Congress chief described Bacha Khan as a “beacon of peace” and noted that his life and work continue to inspire millions across India and South Asia.
Khan, a towering figure of India’s freedom struggle, was remembered as a lifelong champion for peace and nonviolence.

The Congress chief highlighted that Ghaffar Khan, a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, endured repeated imprisonment for his principles during the freedom struggle.
He also underscored the Pashtun leader’s long association with the Indian National Congress, noting that he served for several years on the Congress Working Committee and was elected to the Constituent Assembly.
“His steadfast dedication to non-violence, harmony, and human dignity continues to inspire millions, reminding us of the shared ideals that bind us all,” Kharge said in his tribute.
