Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Yatri Niwas of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) at Pantha Chowk, Srinagar, and dedicated the facility to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji.
Built through generous donations, the Yatri Niwas can accommodate 1,300 pilgrims and features 75 rooms with 225 beds and 43 dormitories spread over five floors. The facility aims to enhance comfort, safety, and convenience for the devotees of Baba Barfani during the annual pilgrimage.
Speaking at the event, LG Sinha said,
“This Yatri Niwas is a symbol of our dedication and commitment to provide better facilities for devotees of Baba Barfani. The second phase of its construction will commence soon. It stands as a testament to selfless service and devotion. Let us pray to Baba Amarnath to bless our land with peace, happiness, and prosperity.”
He extended heartfelt gratitude to Shri Mukesh Garg, Member of SASB, his team, and the Shrine Board for their contribution towards this initiative.
While interacting with media persons, LG Sinha highlighted that the Shrine Board is making continuous efforts to improve facilities for the Yatra and emphasized the overwhelming support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the spiritual journey.
“A wave of enthusiasm is sweeping across Jammu and Kashmir. This Yatra is deeply rooted in the spirit of the region, drawing full cooperation from its people,” he added.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor also unveiled a painting on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra by renowned artist KK Gandhi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by SASB Members K.N. Rai and Mukesh Garg; Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to LG and CEO SASB; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; V.K. Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, along with senior officials from police, civil administration, and the SASB.(JKNS)
