More than a dozen of people have been injured in clashes that broke out between Police forces, and the protesters in Pattan, Baramulla of North Kashmir who were out on streets protesting over the minor girl’s rape.
Reports said that in a skirmish between security forces and protesters as many as 12 people got injured. Earlier, people since the morning had hit to the streets raising slogans against the accused and demanding death penalty for him. Soon the agitation got violent and the forces resorted to tear gas firing in response to the stones hurled by the gathered protesters, mostly youth.
One among the injured was identified as Arshid Ahmad Dar, who was hit by a tear gas shell on his hand. The injured is said to be very critical and has been rushed to Srinagar.Sajad Gani Lone, People Conference Chairman also condemned the heinous crime of a minor girl being raped. He said in a tweet, Use of pellets against protesters protesting the rape of a 3 year old girl goes against all norms.
Has the JK Police forgotten non lethal crowd control. Heaven’s sake. Understand there is anger and anger in such a case is normal,”Meanwhile, as precautionary measure, train services have been suspended from Baramulla to Srinagar after the massive protests.
A railway official said that the train service from Baramulla to Srinagar has been suspended today. This he said was taken out as a security measure after the horrific rape incident has witnessed heavy protests and fuelled the rage of people all across the valley.
