A preacher from Kulgam district, who was missing since 07 August, was found dead on Monday in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a body was spotted by some passersby along river Jhelum in Zirpora area of Bijbehara town, who accordingly informed police.
He said that police rushed to the spot and took body into their custody, following which it was shifted to GMC Anantnag for medico-legal rites.
He identified the body as preacher Muhammad Ashraf Shah, son of Abdul Aziz Shah of Behibagh Kulgam, who was missing since August 07.
He said that the body is being handed over to family for last rites besides that investigation has been started in this regard
