The Legitimate Online Mehbooba
Srinagar: Hitting hard on People’s Democratic Party, the former chief minister and NC Vice president Omar Abdullah said that there will be no militant created if “New Delhi engineers a split Delhi and tries to break the PDP.”
Watch Our Report:
Omar was reacting to a statement of Mehbooba Mufti who warned New Delhi like a situation of 1990’s in case there is any attempt to break her party.
“There are issues in the family and they can be resolved within the family. But if New Delhi breaks the PDP, it will have dangerous consequences,” she had warned.
“She must really be desperate if she is threatening the centre with renewed militancy if PDP breaks up. She seems to have forgotten that militancy in Kashmir has already been reborn under her most able administration,” tweeted Omar in response to her statement.
Mehbooab had further said: “If Delhi tries to dismiss the voting rights of people like 1987, if it tries to create divisions & interfere like that then I think just like a Salahuddin and a Yasin Malik were born in 1987s,” Mehbooba told reporters at Martyrs graveyard.
She said that New Delhi in 1987 robbed Kashmiris ballot boxes and warned of dangerous consequences if there is any such attempt.
“If Delhi intervenes and breaks our party, and makes Sajad Lone or whosoever as the Chief Minister, it will erode the trust of the Kashmiris in Indian democracy. Any intervention from Delhi will be taken seriously,”
The PDP is on cross roads after the coalition government led by Mehbooba last month collapsed. Its six leaders have turned rebel and have accused party of being family centric.
