The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) kicked off a large-scale membership drive in Jammu on Thursday, reinforcing its commitment to a ‘progressive and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir’.
The initiative was symbolically inaugurated with the first membership handed over to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, signaling a renewed push for grassroots mobilization and public participation.
News agency KINS reported that Mehbooba Mufti, who is spearheading the campaign, also held a key meeting with party leaders and workers to strategize outreach efforts.
“This drive is a significant step towards empowering people and ensuring their voices shape J&K’s future,” she said. “We are dedicated to fostering inclusivity, progress, and unity, and this initiative is central to that vision.”
One of the PDP leaders said that the membership drive aims to expand its support base, engaging with citizens across Jammu and Kashmir and strengthening its political footprint.
Senior party leaders underscored the importance of direct outreach, emphasizing that every individual in J&K should have a role in the democratic process.(KINS)
