In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, J&K Police in Awantipora have arrested a bootlegger and seized illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police party headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora during a routine patrolling at Awantipora, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a bag. He has been identified as Bahrat Moosiyar son of Rawa Moosiyar Resident of Bigam Bihar Bitiyar. During search, 07 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the bag. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 197/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
