In its relentless war against drugs, Police in Sopore have booked four habitual and notorious narcotics offenders under the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS).
The offenders, identified as Owais Bashir Shikari son of Bashir Ahmad Shikari resident of Sher Colony Sopore, Saraj-u-Din Parray son of Mohammad Mukhtar Parray resident of Parraypora Hadipora, Waseem Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Aadipora Sopore and Imtiyaz Ahmad Dhobi son of Ali Mohammad Dhobi resident of Dangiwacha Rafiabad have a proven history of repeated involvement in drug trafficking cases. Despite earlier arrests and preventive actions, they continued their illicit activities, posing a serious threat to the society.
After preparation of detailed dossiers and sanction from the competent authority, detention orders were executed and the accused lodged in District Jail Poonch and Central Jail Kot-Balwal.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, J&K Police appeals to the public to remain vigilant and join hands in the collective mission for a drug-free society.(KINS)
