Police on Monday booked one person under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his involvement in the sacrilegious activity in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that action was taken against a miscreant Sher Mohammad for his involvement in a sacrilegious Act.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom shared that the police received multiple complaints against the accused from time to time.
Upon receiving the information in time the police, under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Kishtwar, promptly arrested the individual involved in this heinous crime.
The accused hails from Nagnigarh Keshwan and is currently residing in Lower Pochhal, Tehsil in Kishtwar district.
During the investigation, it was found that the accused was involved in various complaints of a similar nature and consequently, a dossier was sent to the DM Kishtwar and the person is booked under PSA.
After obtaining the PSA orders, a special team was constituted by the SSP Kishtwar to arrest the accused, who has now been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, District Jammu.
SSP Kishtwar issued a stern warning to all individuals involved in such sacrilegious acts and bovine smugglers to desist from their activities.
He emphasized that anyone found involved in such acts would face the full force of the law.
District Police Kishtwar reaffirms its commitment to maintaining communal harmony and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
Acts that threaten peace and public order will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty of such offences.
The SSP appealed to all residents to remain calm and cooperate with Police authorities.
