Police seizes 14 vehicles arrests 13 persons in Kulgam, Awantipora

  Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police have arrested 14 vehicles and arrested 13 persons.

In Kulgam, a Police party of Police Post Mirbazar seized four vehicles (02 Tippers and 02 Tractors) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals besides, arrested three persons (drivers) involved in the commission of crime.

Meanwhile, in Awantipora, a Police team of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO PS Khrew seized ten vehicles (06 L&Ts and 04 Tippers) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.(JKNS)
