Police solve theft case in J&Ks Ganderbal, 4 arrested

Police solved a theft case by arresting four accused persons and recovered stolen property in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police on Monday said that it received a written complaint on May 28, 2024 regarding cattle theft at Kachnambal Wudar Kangan.

On receipt of the complaint, a case FIR No 41/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kangan and investigation was started.

During the course of investigation, a special team of police was constituted who apprehended four accused persons.

Police identified the accused as Imran Ahmad Shah a resident of Uttar Pradesh presently staying at Panzinara, Altaf Ahmad Sheikh of Gantmula Baramulla, Mohammad Lateef Pathan of Mujpathri Budgam and a Juvenile (name withheld) resident of Qamarwari Srinagar.

During questioning, they confessed their involvement in the commission of crime.

They further disclosed that they have sold the cattle to a butcher identified as Yaqoob Ahmad Wani a resident of Hajin Sonawari.

All the accused persons were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they will remain in custody besides, the juvenile was lodged in juvenile home Harwan Srinagar.

Two vehicles which were used in the commission of the crime were also seized, police added.
