The Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL) on Thursday successfully completed new 33 KV lines and allied infrastructure to evacuate power from 220/33 KV Grid Substation Chowadi under Centrally sponsored Project–Prime Minister Development Programme-Urban Circle Jammu.
As per official, the grid will add new capacity to the existing power infrastructure of JPDCL and in turn giving relief to existing new Bari Brahmana-First and Bari Brahmana-Second Grid stations which feed power to the Bari Brahmana Industries.
Since, it is the endeavour of the J&K Government to attract new industries, Chowadhi Grid shall make abundant power available in Bari-Brahmana Industrial area for new Industries, said the official.
He added that besides benefiting the Industries, the Chowadhi Grid shall also give major relief to various residential areas including Greater Kailash and Sainik Colony among others.
The formal power evacuation on new 33 KV lines was switched on load by Shiv Anant Tayal, Managing Director, JPDCL.
To evacuate power, under PMDP scheme 25 circuit kms of new 33 KV lines from Chowadi to Birpur, Bari Brahmna, Sainik Colony, Mandal, Ratnu Chak and Narmada were constructed at the cost of about 4 crores by Project Implementing agency ( RECPDCL ) and M/s L&T as turnkey contractor for the project.
