Er. Rasheed Seeks Revocation Of Amendments In PSA

Date:

Bandipora: Seeking cancellation of the amendment made in Public Safety Act (PSA) by the governor, allowing detunes to be imprison outside J&K jails, AIP president Er. Rasheed has termed the move inhuman and unfortunate.

While addressing party workers at Bandipora today Er. Rasheed said “One fails to understand if from amnesty international to Human Rights organizations in India call PSA a draconian law, what could be the need and urgency to make this law more inhuman. All those being detained under public safety act are political prisoners, not criminals and their rights are being bulldozed.

While in state assembly much hue and cry is being often made  about the misuse of PSA, it is strange that the governor has amended the law without any consultations with the political parties and the human rights organizations, thus allowing detunes to be shifted outside J&K”. Er. Rasheed said that rather preventing misuse of the draconian so called PSA, making it more anti-people is painful.

Er. Rasheed appealed governor to reconsider the amendment and rectify the ordinance so that the genuine apprehensions of masses are addressed and rights of detunes are protected.

Er. Rasheed while welcoming exchange of goodwill gesture between Prime Minister Narinder Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan appealed both Prime Ministers to rise to the occasion and understand the pain and sufferings of Kashmiri people. He also appealed various political parties to find a common minimum agenda not only to protect Article 35-A but work for the larger issue of resolution of J&K. Speaking on the occasion Party Senior leader Prince Parvez appealed masses to strengthen AIP at the gross root level so that a genuine and much needed alternate political plate form is created.
