Ranji Trophy 2019-20: Poor Light Hit Day One Of Cricket Match, J&K Bundled Out For 182

Srinagar: Bad light affected the first day on Ranji match between cricket team Jammu and Kashmir and host Uttarakhand at Abhimanyu Cricket Stadium, Dehradun.

Team Jammu and Kashmir were bundled out for mere 182 runs in 45 over with Shubham Khajuria scoring highest 47 runs. In response to the first inning score, team Uttarakhand ended the day with 64/7.

According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Uttarakhand won the toss and elected to bat field on the track which was very little to offer for batsman. Team Jammu and Kashmir was led by Ahmed Banday with former captain Parvez Rasool sitting on the bench.

J&K team had a good start with Banday and Suryansh Raina contributing the first wicket partnership for over 45 runs. Banday was firs to perish as he was clean bowled at a score of 24 runs. Suryansh Raina who was looking good was caught with double mind and was sent back to dug out in shape of run out.

Shubham Khajuria was the highest scorer for the team Jammu and Kashmir contributing 47 runs hitting four 4’s and 2 sixes. Half of the J&K team was out for 141 runs, while as last five wickets contributing 41 runs and team went all out in the first innings for mere 182 runs.

Five players of Jammu and Kashmir failed to cross double figure mark with Banday scoring 24, Raina 35, Khajuria 47, Owais 23, Ram 11 and Abid Mushtaq 15. For Uttarakhand Rahil Shah was pick of the bowlers taking three wickets for mere 18 runs, Sunny Raina took two wickets, and one wicket for each.

With team Jammu and Kashmir scoring score below than the expected, the bowlers came with all guns blazing. The 31 year old right arm pacer Mohammed Mudassir took three wickets for 11 runs in his eight over’s, while as Ram Dayal bowling all rounder stepped in and demolished the middle order.

Ram Dayal took three wickets and troubled the host Uttarakhand with his accurate line and length. While as Abid Mushtaq took the last wicket of the day in the shape of Rahil Shah.

With seven wickets down for the Uttarakhand, Tanmay Srivastava was the highest scorer with 17 runs with Dikshanshu Negi unbeaten for 16 runs. Rest of the batsman could not pass double figure score. (KNO)
