APHC (M) Pays Tribute To Sheikh Aziz, Condemns Arrest Of Militants’ Relatives

Date:

Srinagar:All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) has paid rich Tributes to former executive member and senior leader of the amalgam Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who was killed in 2008.

A Hurriyat (M) spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS said the slain leader stood like a rock on his convictions and all his life fought for the people’s movement for right to self-determination.

“Sheikh Abdul Aziz will always be remembered for that and his contribution towards the ongoing freedom struggle. Under the banner of APHC, he worked tirelessly shoulder to shoulder with other resistance leaders,” he said adding, “The mission of Sheikh Aziz and all other martyrs of Kashmir who laid the supreme sacrifice of life are etched in our consciousness and will never be compromised upon.”

Meanwhile, paying rich tributes to five militants killed in an encounter in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, APHC (M) spokesperson said, “The nation is indebted to the youth for offering the great sacrifice of their life, to free people of Kashmir from the clutches of slavery and oppression and they will always be remembered for it.”

He strongly condemned the nocturnal raids and arrests of family members of armed youth in various areas of Tral in Pulwama district, terming the move as “revengeful, petty and ultimate highhandedness” of forces and authorities.

“The relatives including brothers and fathers of armed youth are bundled in police vehicles and lodged in police stations at the will and whim of these agencies as if there is no law in the land,” he said.

“Such revengeful persecution by state unleashed through police and forces and the victimization of their families leaves no option for the youth other than to resort to pick up arms. The authorities are pushing them to it by these oppressive tactics,” the APHC (M) spokesperson said. (GNS)
