Six Of Family Missing After Car Falls Into Bhot Nallah In Kishtwar

Six members of a family were reported missing on Thursday after their car skidded off the road and fell into the swollen Bhot Nallah in Gulabgarh area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Bhot Nallah is a tributary of mighty river Chenab.

The mishap took place around 12 noon.

According to reports, the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle on a road passing through the hilly terrain between Garh and Gulabgarh area of Paddar tehsil due to which the car rolled down the Bhot Nallah.

Rajinder Singh Tara, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, said that they have launched the rescue operation to trace the missing persons.

“Different teams of SDRF, police and divers, assisted by locals, have launched a search operation,” the deputy commissioner said.

SSP Kishtwar Dr Harmeet Singh Mehta said that five to six persons were travelling in the car when it met with an accident.

“All efforts are being made to rescue the missing persons,” he said. (TNS)
