At least two firemen sustained injuries during a firefighting operation in which three shops were gutted in the downtown area of Srinagar on Friday, officials said.
Fire and emergency service officials said that a fire broke out at 1.30 pm in a shop and engulfed nearby shops in the Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar, causing extensive damage to the three Hosiery shops.
They said during the operation, two firemen, identified as Baldev Singh and Mudasir Ahmad, sustained minor injuries and were hospitalised for treatment. Both are stable, they said.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, they said.
