SSP Shopian, Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary (IPS), chaired a crime and security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Conference Hall in Shopian. The meeting was attended by ASP Shopian, DySP Headquarters, SDPOs of Zainapora and Imamsahib, DySP DAR, Senior Prosecuting Officer DPO, and all SHOs and In-charges of police posts across the district.
The meeting focused on key areas including the implementation of newly introduced criminal laws, handling of trials in absentia, organized crime control, and a status review of pending and disposed cases under the NDPS Act, UAPA, and POCSO.
SSP Chowdhary stressed the importance of effective law enforcement, meticulous investigation, and timely case disposal in line with new legal frameworks. He called for a proactive stance against drug-related crimes and strict enforcement of laws under the NDPS Act and UAPA.
Officers were instructed to adopt modern investigative tools and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Emphasis was laid on strengthening intelligence gathering, enhancing anti-drug operations, and fostering inter-agency coordination to maintain a strong security environment. Special focus was directed toward maintaining heightened vigilance in sensitive areas to counter potential threats to regional peace and order.(KINS)
