Describing this Lok Sabha election as second battle for independence of the country, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole made an appeal to public to bring INDIA bloc to power at the Centre to save democracy and the Constitution.

Addressing an election rally at Rokda Savargaon in Ahmedpur taluka of the district on Wednesda for official candidate Dr Shivaji Kalge, he recalled how the Congress struggled to get independence for the country and after that worked for 60-65 years to ensure development in various fields, he said.

The MPCC chief accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of selling the country’s assets that the Congress had built over a period of 60 years.

He alleged that BJP has committed sin of disturbing social peace and harmony by creating communal tension in the name of caste and religion.

Criticising the BJP government, Patole said that BJP had promised to give reservation to Maratha, OBC, Dhangar, Adivasi communities, but they did not deliver the same, instead they instigated a dispute between the Maratha and OBC communities in the state.

He alleged that BJP came to power in 2014 with false promises, in 2019, 40 paramilitary jawans were martyred in an attack at Pulwama, which has not been investigated till date.

The Modi government collected money from people through GST and filled the pockets of his industrialist friends like Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, imposed ban on onion export but lifted it only for Gujarat and not for Maharashtra, he claimed.

The BJP government drove industries in Maharashtra to Gujarat, he alleged.

If Modi comes to power again, he will change the Constitution and also end the reservation, he added.
