An earthquake of mild intensity jolted Kashmir valley on Friday, officials said.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured 4.2 on the Richter scale with the epicenter at latitude 34.32 in the north and longitude 74.41 in the east.
The tremors were felt in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley for a few seconds.
The tremors were felt at 12.26 pm in the 5 km depth north east of Baramulla.
There was no report of loss of life or damage to property.
