Trump shares X post advocating killing of Iran leaders who oppose deal, Iran calls it 'moral failure'

US President Donald Trump created yet another controversy by sharing a post on his social media platform which called for ‘killing’ those Iranian leaders who do not want a deal with the US.

”If there are two factions in Iran, one that wants a deal and one that doesn’t. Let’s kill the ones who don’t want a deal,” Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen (twitter handle @marcthiessen) said on X.

The post was shared by Trump on his own social media platform.

Iran reacted angrily with Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei lashing out at the US for sharing the post, and described it as ”evidence of a deep moral collapse.”

Baqaei decried Trump’s endorsement of the X post and said such actions reflect a shift by the United States from its claimed values towards promotion of violence and extremism. He said the post raises questions about a profound moral failure.

“The President of the United States has reposted a statement from an individual openly calling for ‘killing the ones who don’t want a deal’,” Baqaei said.

“The United States, which once presented itself as a cradle of democracy, freedom, and human values, now appears to become a promoter of terrorism, murder, and mass violence,” the spokesman said.

“What should one call this, if not a profound moral failure, the spokesman asked.
