Two killed, 4 injured at construction site on Jammu-Pathankot NH in Samba

Two labourers were killed, four injured at a construction site on Jammu-Pathankot national highway on Thursday in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The AIIMS spokesman said that an incident occurred this afternoon on the National Highway near construction site in Supwal, Vijaypur in Samba district.

“Sixx workers got trapped under soil debris. The workers after the incident were taken to the Trauma and Emergency Department of AIIMS Vijaypur,” said the spokesman.

It furrher said that the doctors immediately responded to the situation but despite of multiple resuscitation attempts and immediate medical attention, two of the workers namely Lal Singh from Reasi District (35) and Shobin Kumar from Bihar (28) were declared as brought dead.

Four others hospitalised are Sahib Kumar-26, from Bihar, Dharmendra Kumar-36 from Bihar, Dheeraj Sharma-26 from Jammu and Kiran Kumar-48 from Udhampur.

According to hospital authorities, they are receiving specialized care and are being closely monitored by a team of doctors and trauma specialists.

Authorities have expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased while ensuring that the injured workers will continue to receive the best medical care possible in the Institute.
