Two persons died after a boat capsized here in Nigeen lake amid windstorm on Tuesday.
Sources said a boat carrying five passengers capsized after it was caught in windstorm in the lake, out of which three were rescued. However two of them tragically drowned.
They said the bodies have been retrieved after hectic efforts.
The deceased persons have been identified as Sajad Ahmad of Hafiz Bagh and Umar Lalpuri of Ellahi Bagh area of Srinagar.
“They had gone to attend a marriage function in a small boat. However, their boat capsized.”
