One person was killed and around 35 others were injured when a private bus overturned on Jhansi-Kanpur national highway in Jalaun district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place between Aata and Kalpi police station when a sleeper bus coming from Ahmedabad and going to Kanpur overturned in the middle of the road. “The conductor of the bus, Pappan, a resident of Pune in Maharashtra, was killed in the incident and 35 others were injured,” they said.
Police sources said that the injured were admitted to the medical college in Orai. “The incident led to a traffic jam on the highway. Traffic resumed after the bus was removed from the road with the help of a crane,” they said.
