The Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar will be attending the convocation of the University of Jammu as the chief guest here on June 22.
As per official sources, the Vice President will be presenting degrees to the gold medallists and Ph.d scholars of the University.
“During the special ceremony, the medallists will wear traditional dresses instead of customary black gowns,” said an official.
The preparations for the function are in full swing, said an official adding that the UGC authorities have emphasised on promotion of traditional costumes during the function.
