Waqf Board committed to continuous shrine development across J&K: Andrabi

Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Darakhshan Andrabi, on Monday said the Board remains firmly committed to its resolve of ensuring the continuous development of all shrines under its jurisdiction across Jammu and Kashmir.


She said this after visiting Aasar-e-Shareef Kabamarg in Anantnag where she paid obeisance at the revered shrine.


During the visit, Andrabi inaugurated the newly constructed Administrative Block, the Ornamental Aluminum Composite Panel (OACP) Dome of the Ziyarat, and upgradation works of the Grand Masjid, in the presence of Waqf Board officers, engineers, and local residents, a statement by the Board said.


Addressing the gathering, the Waqf chairperson said the Board remains committed to the continuous development of this shrine and all shrines under the Waqf Board across Jammu and Kashmir.


Later, she visited the shrine of Syed Ahmad Kirmani (RA) at Movera, Pahalgam, where she offered prayers for peace and welfare.


Talking to media here, she emphasized that innovative and sustainable technologies are being adopted to ensure quality infrastructure, guided by transparency, accountability, and strict timelines in both divisions of the union Territory.


Andrabi noted that over the past three years, the Waqf Board has carried out extensive facelift and facility upgrades at the shrine, including construction of sanitary facilities, pathways, Masjid improvements, food distribution points, and other allied works.
