A mild earthquake of 2.8 magnitude jolted the hills of Kullu district in this north-western Himalayan state on Monday morning, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The IMD spokesperson said that the tremor jolted parts of Kullu district at 0718 hrs, having an epicenter at the latitude of 31.46, a longitude of 77.64, and a depth of five kilometers in Himachal Pradesh.
The magnitude of the tremor was recorded at 2.8 on the Richter scale. No loss of life or property was recorded due to the impact of the tremor.
It was felt by the local people as the epicenter was near human habitation.
